Gretz Brewing, based in Pennsylvania, is a revived historical brewery brand with origins dating back to the 1800s. With a focus on tradition, process stability, and quality brewing, the owners set out to build a technically sound and efficient brewhouse from the ground up. Early in the planning phase, proBrau was brought in to support equipment selection and assist with overall project execution.

As the project developed, proBrau took responsibility for the installation and commissioning of the brewhouse and cellar equipment. The brewhouse, manufactured by Kaspar Schulz, was selected for its proven reliability and build quality. proBrau coordinated the mechanical rigging, setup, and alignment of all major components on site.

Scope of Work

proBrau managed the technical planning and rigging of the complete brewhouse system, including lauter tun, wort kettle, and whirlpool. All units were installed in accordance with process layout and drainage requirements. The fermentation and bright beer tanks were rigged and placed by our team and anchored to specification.

Commissioning and Ongoing Support

After mechanical completion, proBrau supported Gretz Brewing during commissioning and startup. This included:

Pre-startup validation and system flushing
Assistance during first brews
Configuration of automation and control sequences
Hands-on support for operators
Functional testing of pumps, valves, and sensors

proBrau also continues to support Gretz Brewing with ongoing technical consulting. From process optimization and troubleshooting to long-term capacity planning, we remain in close contact with the team to assist with all brewery-related topics.
